Pre-Dance 1An introductory class for those who will be 3 or 4 by December 31, 2008. Encompasses basic ballet, jazz and musical theatre with a strong focus on coordination, musicality and movement. These dancers perform in the recital in June. Pre-Dance 2A class for those who will be 4 or 5 by December 31, 2008. Continues to add onto the vocabulary learned in pre-dance 1 and introduces more complex movement patterns. A recital dance is included in the class. Pre-dance 1 is not a pre-requisite for this level. Pre-Primary BalletFor 5 year olds who wish to begin training in the royal academy of dance's ballet syllabus. No exam occurs, but a recital dance will be taught. PrimaryFor those who will be 6 or 7 by December 31, 2008. The first exam level of the royal academy of dance's ballet syllabus RAD Royal Academy of Dance a recital dance is learned. RAD Grade 1-8, Intermediate foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1 & 2From age 7- higher RAD Royal Academy of Dance exam levels. All classes meet a minimum of twice a week and students train towards exams. High school credits can be obtained from grade 4 up. Recital dances and competitions nearly always take place in these classes. All Pro LevelsFrom age 7- a specific program for those children who love to dance and compete and wish to take their training to a higher level. By audition or recommendation only. Competitive Musical TheatreFor ages 10 - 14 who are also taking ballet or jazz (can be a recreational ballet or jazz class). Includes singing, dancing and acting and will compete a maximum of two times. Intermediate Competitive Jazz10 - 13 years and must take ballet. Not for a first year dancer (who are encouraged to take ballet and rec. Jazz to be ready for competitive next year) discretion may be used for certain dancer's ages. Teen Competitive JazzSame as intermediate competitive jazz but ages 14+. Intermediate Jazz RecreationalFor those dancers age 9 - 12 who previously took jazz or ballet last year. No competitions. Tap TechniqueFor those dancers taking tap exam classes silver lower and above. This is not a mandatory class, but highly encouraged. Junior Competitive Jazz7 - 9 years and must take ballet. Limited to one competition a year. A great introduction to the competitive world of dance and additional performing opportunities can occur. Red, Blue, Yellow Star, Bronze Lower, Higher, Silver Lower, Higher & Gold LowerTap exam classes from age 7. A recital routine is learned and competitions often occur. Pre-JazzFor those ages 5 - 7 by December 31, 2008 - an introduction to jazz technique. This class will dance in the recital. Junior JazzFor those dancers ages 6 - 8 who have previously done pre-jazz or who have trained at least two years in another dance form. Will perform in the recital. Junior Jazz AdvancedFor those dancers ages 7+ who are entering their 3rd or 4th year of jazz. A recital dance will be taught. Pre-TapFor those ages 5 - 7 who want to begin basic tap. This class will perform in the recital. Junior Musical TheatreAges 7 - 10 for those who love to sing, dance and act! Must have prior dance training in either ballet or jazz. A recital dance will be taught. Beginner JazzFor those ages 9 - 12 who wish to begin learning jazz. A recital dance is taught. Hip HopAll levels - classes for those 7 and up who wish to learn to move like they do in music videos! No experience in hip hop is needed, but other dance forms are an asset. Recital dances will occur at all levels and possibly a competition or two for the intermediate and senior classes. |
